The actual job
This is the Automatic weather station (AWS) that we had come to work on. Over the year, snow covers the base and it needs to be raised. This is done by digging out the base back to the last drum and welding 3 more new ones on, then putting the AWS back on top. It is a big job and certainly made more difficult by the -20 to -25 degree temperatures, but it sure is satisfying finishing a job such as it!
