drilling the sea ice for depth measurement
this is Nick one of our dieso's with the ice drill. He will drill through till he hits water, then we put a measuring hook down to see how thick the ice is. On this day the thinnest we measured was 350mm and the thickest nearly 600mm. For safety it is a requirement for at least 200mm so we were very safe.
